Does weight affect subduction rate in the oceans?

in the subduction zones is the rate of subduction affected by the weight of the ocean. like if the ice caps melted and increased the level over the rest of the ocean would that cause an increase of pressure and make the water subduct faster.

Theoretically, any weight bearing down on the sea bottom could contribute to subduction along a plate margin. But, within reason, the weight of water is always going to be of minor consequence to the rate of subduction compared to the miles of thick continental crust being driven beneath a plate.

Too much is being made of the effects of the additional amount of water from melting the glaciers. At most, mean sea level will rise twenty feet. And, sea water is not subducted; the water in subducted rocks is interstitial (pore) water in the rocks.
